Stuart R. Breaux joined Becker and Hebert in October of 2012. He was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and graduated from the Episcopal School of Acadiana in 2004. He attended the University of Louisiana, graduating in 2008 with a B.A. in political science and a minor in history. After graduating from UL, Mr. Breaux attended Tulane University Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor with a certificate in Civil Law. During law school, he participated in interschool moot court competitions as both a competitor and coach, was a member of the Tulane Moot Court Board, and was named to the Order of Barristers, an honor society for law school students who have exhibited excellence and obtained high honors through the art of courtroom advocacy.

Mr. Breaux was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 2011, and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Western District, Middle District, and Eastern District of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. His practice is focused on local, municipal and governmental law; planning, zoning and land use law; and commercial real estate and business transactions. Prior to joining Becker and Hebert, Mr. Breaux practiced at the Lafayette office of Milling Benson Woodward, LLP, where he worked in the firm's litigation, labor and employment, and governmental relations and regulatory sections.

Mr. Breaux is an active member of the Lafayette Bar Association, where he serves as the Editor of its bi-monthly newsletter, The Promulgator, and regularly accepts pro bono cases through the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers program. Mr. Breaux is also an active member of the Lafayette Young Lawyers Association, having served on its Board of Directors since 2012. He currently serves as Secretary. Additionally, Mr. Breaux is a member of the American Inn of Court of Acadiana and The705. He is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette (Class XXIX), and serves on the Board of Directors of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana.
